2023년 7월 1일부로 호주 최저임금이 21.38호주달러에서 23.23호주달러로 인상되었습니다. 풀타임(38시간) 근무시 주급은 882.80호주달러 입니다. 23.07.09일 기준 23.23호주달러는 2만원이 넘는 금액입니다. 호주는 전세계에서 최저임금이 제일 높은 나라로 알려저 있으며, 다른나라의 워홀과 달리 호주의 경우 12개월 모두 일을 할 수 있다는 장점이 있습니다. 단 한 고용주 밑에서 6개월 이상 일을 할 수 없다는 조건이 있습니다. (과일 농장 등 특수한 경우 6개월 이상 가능)
호주의 고용주들은 직접 만나 이야기하는 것을 선호하기 때문에 호주 입국 전에 직장을 미리 구하는 것이 어려울 수도 있습니다. 그러나 입국 전에 미리 몇 가지를 준비해 두면 쉽게 직장을 구하는 데 도움이 됩니다.
